Plot summary:

Crowned at the young age of 13, Ei Sei is the current Qin King without any real authority or power whatsoever. That is why ever since his rise to the throne, the palace has become a bloodbath for those officials who want to gain power for themselves. When an uprising by his younger brother caused Ei Sei to fled the palace, he ended teaming up with Shin.

Shin is an orphaned servant boy together with Hyou. The two of them together dreamed to become the Great General of the Heavens and thus trained their bodies and their swordsmanship. One day, an official from the palace adopted Hyou into the family and offered the latter an important job in the palace. Hyou went with the official leaving Shin with the determination to reach their dreams. This was the easiest way for them to reach their dreams after all, regardless of whether they are going at it with a different pace.

The uprising that caused the King of Qin to be overthrown out of his throne is certainly a news that should never have reached the countryside to where Shin was, but that was not the case. With worries about his friend's safety, Shin heard a knock on his shack's door in the middle of the night. When he opened the door, a dying Hyou welcomed his sight. After breathing his last words, Shin followed through with his promise with Hyou. As he went with Hyou's instructions before his death, what awaits him was the King of Qin!

Despite the rage he felt upon knowing that the King was the reason for Hyou's death, he went together with the royal blood to put an end to the conflict for the thrown. Their success for that mission is all thanks to Shin's extraordinary presence in the battlefield. Not only that, they also gained the support of Yotanwa, the King of the Mountains.

When the uprising was resolved, Shin was given a land and a house of his own. From the status of a slave, Shin moved up the social ladder by having these assets and thus was allowed to be drafted for war. This became the stepping stone for Shin in his journey to become the Great General of the Heavens.
